Chinese investor in four administrative proceedings related to the construction, redesign, and improvement of 14 road projects in Ecuador, successfully defending the client against four claims imposed by the Comptroller General of the State, which were dismissed. The approximate amount of the dispute was USD 200 million.
Spanish investor in two administrative litigation proceedings against the Comptroller General of the State, related to a contract signed in 2011 with the Ministry of Public Health to improve hospital equipment and infrastructure in the Amazon region. The amount of the proceedings amounts to USD 180 million.
Ecuadorian private bank in two claims for alleged moral damages caused by reports to the Credit Bureau of the Superintendency of Banks. The disputes amount to approximately USD 11 million.
Technology provider in an administrative dispute with the Comptroller General of the State related to a contract with the Judicial Council to develop an electronic case management system in Ecuador, where the Comptroller issued a disallowance for the total value of the contract despite certification of compliance. The approximate amount of the dispute is USD 24 million.
Spanish investor in a vicarious liability dispute filed by a steel company in connection with the construction of the Quito Metro. CorralRosales formulated a defense strategy based on a thorough analysis of vicarious liability to refute the arguments against the client, achieving dismissal of the case after filing several preliminary objections.
