Bio

Roberto is a senior associate at CorralRosales. He leads the constitutional law practice and is part of the Public Law and Dispute Resolution departments. His practice focuses on advising and representing corporate clients in proceedings involving constitutional procedures, contentious-administrative matters, regulatory disputes, and consumer protection claims.

Prior to joining CorralRosales, he held senior management and advisory roles at the Constitutional Court of Ecuador for over five years, including Chief of Staff (2022-2023), Rapporteur (2022), and Law Clerk (2019-2022). In 2023, he was appointed as Senior Constitutional Consultant of the Inter-American Development Bank for the Constitutional Court Strengthening Program.

Roberto earned his law degree with honors from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) and obtained an LL.M. in Public Law with distinction from The London School of Economics and Political Science, as a Chevening Scholar. Additionally, he holds a Master’s in Constitutional Law from Universitat de València, which he obtained as a “Luisa Cardona” excellence scholar, and a Diploma in Advanced Constitutional Law from USFQ.

Roberto is a professor of Constitutional Law at USFQ. He is the author and co-author of multiple national and international academic publications, contributed two entries to the prestigious Max Planck Encyclopedia of Comparative Constitutional Law, and wrote the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Ecuador reports for the Global Review of Constitutional Law. He co-authored the Ecuadorian chapter of the publication Judicial Bricolage: The Use of Foreign Precedents by Constitutional Judges, recognized as 2025’s Book of the Year by the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism.
