Bio

María Isabel Torres is an associate lawyer at CorralRosales and is part of the Corporate Law area, in which she has more than 10 years of experience. 

Since 2015 she has worked as an in-house lawyer for multinationals such as IBM, Likewize (now BrightCell) and Grünenthal, which has allowed her to acquire a solid knowledge in the information technology and healthcare industries, as well as to strengthen her commercial vision and understanding of the business environment.

His practice has focused on business advisory and compliance. Throughout her career, she coordinated the legal area of a consulting firm specialized in providing strategic information for decision making in multinational companies. In addition, he has worked in the areas of Intellectual Property, Corporate Law, Regulatory Law and Competition Law. In the latter, she worked as a Legal Analyst at the Superintendence of Control of Market Power for two years.

In 2024 she was admitted as arbitration secretary at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Quito Chamber of Commerce, a distinction that recognizes her training and skills in arbitration.

María Isabel has a law degree from Universidad de los Hemisferios and a professional master’s degree in Business Law from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, where she graduated at the top of her class. She has complemented her education with specialization studies in national and international universities, highlighting her programs in Compliance, New Technologies, Intellectual Property and Competition Law.

She is a member of the Pichincha Lawyers Forum.
