Katherine González is an associate at CorralRosales. She has more than 10 years of experience in the areas of Administrative Law, Administrative Litigation and Intellectual Property.
Katherine leads the Oppositions Department on the registration of distinctive signs and actions before the intellectual property authority. Her practice includes providing legal counsel to local and international clients in opposition processes, cancellation actions and annulments of registrations, as well as ordinary and extraordinary resources in administrative headquarters. This activity is complemented with the management of a wide range of procedures before the intellectual property administrative authority.
Previously, she served as head of the Oppositions Area of the Ecuadorian Institute of Intellectual Property, position in which she implemented new internal actions and procedures that had a positive impact on the amount of paperwork dispatched. She has also worked in several public sector institutions in the area of legal advice and sponsorship.
Katherine is a graduate from the Universidad Central de Venezuela with a Specialization in Administrative Law from Universidad Santa María. She has attended several advanced courses on Arbitration and Mediation, Intellectual Property Management and Trademarks, approved by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Katherine has published several articles on oppositions to trademark registration and actively collaborates with the university initiative “Ecuador gives you a hand”, which seeks to guide young people on the vocational side and raise awareness on issues related to discrimination.
